Does this scenario require an execution fee?

Expedite is an add-on, not a replacement for application or execution fees. In-person DS-11 files still pay execution; mail DS-82 renewals do not.

Expedite is not overnight shipping

The $60.00 fee asks the agency to work the file sooner. The $21.36 fee asks a carrier to return the printed book faster once it exists. You can expedite and still get the book by standard mail. You can pay for 1-2 day return on a routine file. Mixing them up is the most common money mistake we see. Longer explanation: expedite vs overnight.

Duration belongs on expedited processing time. This page is the price. Check the expedite box on the form and include the extra money. Private couriers charge their own fee on top; they are optional. Official DIY expedite still exists.
